Dashboard Analysis

Use the Indicators panel to review portfolio summaries, pillar indices, and map coloring across selected areas.

The Indicators panel is the portfolio-level assessment view. Build or load a selection first (Build portfolios), then open this panel to compare areas and color the map by any index or indicator.

Open the Indicators Panel

  1. Switch to Assess mode.
  2. Click Portfolio in the Assessment toolbar and choose Indicators.

With a default portfolio set, the panel is populated as soon as it opens. Otherwise, add areas on the Sites panel, or load a saved portfolio from the portfolio name under the title, then come back.

Although Sites and Indicators are separate panels, both stay loaded while the portfolio tool is open, so you can move between curating and analyzing freely — map coloring and table state are preserved either way. The Indicators panel always focuses the map on your portfolio and greys out the rest, which is the same view as Show only portfolio areas on the Sites panel.

Summary

With areas selected, Summary reports:

  • Total Areas, Countries, and Total Hectares
  • PCAs and Collective Lands site counts and hectares
  • Portfolio Indices for each pillar, badged area-weighted

With nothing selected, the panel prompts you to add areas first.

Pillar Tabs

Every pillar tab works the same way:

  • Values are area-weighted by hectares across sites that have data, on a 0–100 scale — except Forest Cover, which stays a percentage.
  • The headline index appears first, then the indicators underneath it.
  • Each index and indicator has a switch to color the map, and only one can be active at a time.
  • With map coloring on, a Map scale legend appears under that row.
  • Rows without data read No data for selected areas and their map switch is disabled.

The indicators themselves differ by pillar. Resilience covers Forest Cover, Forest Stability, Connectivity, Freshwater, Species Richness, and Biodiversity Importance. Degradation covers Agriculture, Urban Area, Illegal Mining, Active Mining Concession, Active Oil Concession, Roads (500m), Active Hydropower, and Historical Fires. Pressure covers Fire (previous year), Road (10km), Planned Oil, Planned Mining, Planned Hydro, Routes of Integration, and Drought Stress (previous ~5 years).

Map Coloring

Enabling an index or indicator for the map switches portfolio areas from area-type colors to an indicator color scale. Turning the switch off, choosing a different indicator, or closing the panel clears it.

Exporting

Export CSV on the Sites panel downloads every area in the portfolio with its identifying metadata and the value of every index and indicator shown here — so what you analyzed is what you get in the file.
